It’s just about 6 months after the launch of OnePlus 6, the company has launched its new variant the OnePlus 6T which has somewhat same specifications but few more added features. The main upgrades on the OnePlus 6T include an in-display fingerprint sensor, a waterdrop notch, a larger 3,700mAh battery and some improved software for better photography. In terms of specification, both the device have similar processors and hardware powering them. Both phones are powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU with dual Nano-SIM support. The OnePlus 6T runs OxygenOS based Android 9.0 Pie out-of-the-box.

The storage and RAM variants available on OnePlus 6T are 6GB/8GB of RAM with 128GB/256GB UFS 2.1 inbuilt storage option. The OnePlus 6 had an additional base variant of 64GB which was priced at INR 34,999.

The camera on both the smartphone is exactly the same. The OnePlus 6T and OnePlus 6 sport the same dual rear camera setup. It is a primary 16MP Sony IMX519 sensor with f/1.7 aperture, 1.22-micron pixel size, OIS, and EIS; and a secondary 20-megapixel Sony IMX376K sensor with f/1.7 aperture and 1.0-micron pixel size. The front sensor on both is the same 16MP Sony IMX371 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and EIS. OnePlus was touting about its Nightscape technology, which improves night shots on the OnePlus 6T. This seems to be just a software tweak and will be making its way to the OnePlus 6 devices as well in the very next update.

OnePlus 6T get a bigger 3,700mAh battery with support for 5V/4A fast charge technology which provides a full day of charge in just 30 minutes. The OnePlus 6 came with a 3,300mAh battery with Dash Charger.
Both the smartphone have the same set of sensors which include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, electronic compass, gyroscope and proximity sensor. The OnePlus 6T gets an in-display fingerprint sensor which the OnePlus 6 has a rear-mounted physical sensor. The OnePlus 6 also had a 3.5mm headphone jack which is now missing on the OnePlus 6T. Both the smartphone have the software-based face unlock sensors which work pretty well.

The OnePlus 6T price starts at INR 37,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant which comes with only Mirror Black colour variant, while the 8GB + 128GB Mirror Black and Midnight Black variant are been priced at INR 41,999 and the top 8GB + 256GB Midnight Black variant is been priced at INR 45,999. The base variant of 64GB which was available on OnePlus 6 is now the 128GB variant on OnePlus 6T. The smartphone is available in two colour option in Midnight Black and Mirror Black options.
