Mobiistar X1 Notch

Mobiistar, a Vietnamese smartphone brand, entered the Indian market last year. The brand has launched one of the blingiest, shiny and beautiful looking smartphone ever. The Mobiistar X1 Notch has everything to grab attention in the crowd. A shiny glamorous looking smartphone with good specification and design makes it desirable to buy. The smartphone comes with a gradient colour effect at the back and feels very comfortable in hand. The device has a shiny curved glass design with a dual colour glass back. We spent some time with the smartphone and here is our complete review of the Mobiistar X1 Notch.

Mobiistar X1 Notch

Mobiistar X1 Notch comes with a charger, a micro USB wire, a headset, a SIM ejector and a transparent silicone cover to protect the smartphone.

Design and display

The smartphone has an extravagant look and feels good in the hand. As the name goes, it is one of only a handful couple of smartphone in the budget category that accompanies a notch and is bezel-less. The phone is furnished with a 5.7-inch LCD IPS show and has an HD+ screen goal of 720 x 1,498 pixels and a pixel density of 292 PPI. The display looks clear and bright even under direct sunlight.

The notch on the smartphone looks bigger than other notches on the smartphone. On the bottom, there are speakers on both sides with a micro USB port. The right side of the device comes with volume rockers and the power button while the left side has the SIM tray. The top of the device has the 3.5mm audio jack.

One of my friends confused it with an iPhone from a separation given its size and the situation of the back camera. The ‘gradient shine’ adaptation is a surge of shades of blue and purple makes the smartphone look expensive. The curved glass design with a glass back takes on different colours when the light hits it in different angles. Overall the finish is good and looks like a premium device and good to touch.

Performance

The device experiences a little amount of lag from time to time. If you’re a heavy multi-task user, possibly the smartphone might show some amount of lag. The smartphone houses MediaTek’s MT6739 quad-centre processor having a clock speed of 1.28GHz. The X1 Notch comes with a fingerprint sensor and faces unlock feature. For the price it is been offered, they work really fine. The device runs Android, v8.1 (Oreo) OS with some minor changes which could be the reason for the device showing lag.

The phone comes in two variants a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and a 2GB RAM and 16GB storage variant both can be expanded using microSD card. The SIM tray can accommodate two nano-SIMs and a microSD card. Both the SIM is 4G VoLTE enabled.

Camera

The X1 Notch comes with a 13MP selfie camera that is capable of autofocus but is not equipped with a flash. The rear camera is also 13MP and has digital zoom, auto flash, face detection, touch to focus features. Both the cameras click grainy pictures in low light conditions.

In daylight, one show signs of improved pictures, however, the colours aren’t sharp. One can shoot recordings up to 1080 pixels and the cameras support Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS).

Battery

The device houses a 3020 mAh, Li-Po Battery which is non-removable. It takes more than an hour to go from zero per cent charge to fully charge and is not enough for a full day of use. The battery drains quite fast if you have apps running in the background.

Verdict

Mobiistar X1 Notch

The Mobiistar X1 Notch offers a host of features which are made available in the smartphone with higher category. In the budget range, one would expect a smartphone to last long hours after a full charge. Also, the cameras must be able to click decent pictures. These are two counts on which the X1 Notch stands tall, the device has great features but does not deliver that great performance. But considering the price at which it is been offered and the nature of the offline market. The Mobiistar X1 Notch seems to be a good device for regular usage, maintaining the style, design and with a notch display.
