Asus launched the Zenfone 4 series in India on 14th September. Three new smartphones were launched starting from INR 9,999 to INR 23,999. Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro Design and Build
The Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro follows the same design elements of the company’s existing series. The unibody metal design and the matte black finish on the smartphone make it look and feel premium and sturdy. The antenna lines are seen on the rear of the smartphone. The bezels on the smartphone have been cut down on both the sides. The power and volume rockers are been placed on the right side of the smartphone. The volume rocker is a single button which has a good feedback. On the left, you have the hybrid SIM slot. There is a good amount of space above and below the display, the fingerprint scanner sits at the bottom of the display with capacitive back-lit touch buttons. At the top of the display, there are a bunch of sensors, earphone and dual-camera setup with a soft flashlight. The bottom of the device houses a 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone and a micro-USB port with speaker grills. The back of the smartphone has a huge rear camera which sits at the center with flashlight and Asus logo. Overall the device looks and feels good and people do ask about it when you have it in your hands. Asus also gives a silicone case within the box to protect your device to protect the device.

The Asus Zenfone 4 Selfie Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with 14nm, 64-bit Octa-core processor with power saving mode and Adreno 506 GUP with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD card. The overall performance of the smartphone is good. During our usage, we didn’t find any type of performance issues. Benchmark score on the smartphone showed up a decent number of 66,154 on AnTuTu and 883 scores on Geekbench with a single core and 4351 scores with multi-score. The device handles every other app without any issues. Multitasking was smooth, heavy games with high graphics usage played well. There were no heating issues in the smartphone. The overall performance of the smartphone turned out to be decent and could handle anything coming its way. The device also supports 4G and VoLTE.
Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro Display
The display on the smartphone is 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display with a pixel resolution of 1920*1080 pixel and is protected with 2.5D curved gorilla glass. The display comes with Bluelight filter for eye protection. The capacitive touch panel supports up to 10 points of the multi-touch option, also come with glove touch support. The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro display also has smudge resistant oleophobic coating to keep the huge 5.5-inch display clean and shiny. The only problem we faced with the display was it had some washed-out colors under direct sunlight and visibility was low.
Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro Software
The ZenUI on the ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro looks clean with Android Nougat out of the box. The pre-installed apps on the smartphone have been got down significantly. The UI functions the same way and the old features of ZenUI remain constant. Compared to ZenUI 3.0 the new version has improved the overall user experience. Although the camera app on this life oriented smartphone had some amount of lag. The features have been offered by ZenUI 4.0 come with multiple new options like split screen, twin apps, SOS mode, Page marker, Reader mode. The software performs well without any lag while switching between apps.
Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro Camera
The main attraction of Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is the dual camera setup on the front. The image processing on the rear and front camera is done by Asus SuperPixel engine. The smartphone has a 24-megapixel front camera which actually is two 12MP camera sensor with DuoPixel which means it essentially shoots with a 24MP sensor. The main front sensor is a Sony IMX362 with 1/2.55″ large sensor size, 1.4µm large pixel size, and f/1.8 aperture. The front camera comes with 120-degree wide-angle lens which lets you take a huge group selfie with 4K shooting capabilities. The selfie taken in standard mode came out to be better with good details and colors while in DuoPixel mode, the images are washed out with overexposed pictures in daylight. The images taken in low light from front camera came out decent but not that great.
The rear camera on Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is a 16MP sensor with PDAF and EIS for 4K recording which does a good job in daylight condition. The HDR mode in the camera gives out good pictures also in low-light condition images comes out to be refined. The focus works fast and is quick. The camera interface for both front and rear is pretty easy and straightforward with many options jut at your fingerprint. There are no complex moves needed. There is a variety of shooting mode like Pro, Super Resolution, Panorama, Slow Motion, Time-lapse. The camera also has a portrait mode which works well.

The handset is fitted with a 3000mAh battery and supports USB fast charging. The device is expected to last for about a day with regular usage and if you’re using too much of camera than a half day of battery life could be the most you can get.
The multimedia playback and the sound quality of the smartphone were extraordinary. The device supports high-resolution audio and gives a high output and fairly loud sound. The audio is loud it still gives maintains its quality. The AudioWizard software also adds some extra effects for headphones.

The Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is a good and decent looking smartphone which has a lot more potential. The build quality and specification of the handsets with the features it offers is better than the other selfie oriented smartphone like Oppo and Vivo. If your a selfie person or run a Youtube channel where the use of the front-facing camera is a lot more than this could be the best device you should be buying. Social media people who spend too much time in clicking pictures and going live or making videos Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro is the best smartphone in this price range. The performance of the smartphone is decent and can handle a good amount of load been thrown at it. The only drawback is the price INR 23,999 could be a little more. If your looking for a selfie smartphone with decent usage this could be a good option.
