Xiaomi sold 5 Million units of Redmi 5A? Priced at Rs. 5999

Xiaomi back than had launched one of there cheapest smartphone the Redmi 5A with the tagline #DeshKaSmartphone last year. The ultra-budget smartphone had created a huge buzz around in both online and offline market. It attracted a lot of budget users, who were looking out for a device which could possibly do everything and still cost way to cheap.

The Redmi 5A was launched at Rs. 4,999 which was a special price for its first 5 Million units. Xiaomi India has now re-priced the smartphone to its original price of Rs. 5,999. It seems like company have reached a goal of selling 5 Million units. The Redmi 5A was a huge hit and managed to sell over 1 million smartphones within the first month of launch.

The smartphone is now priced at Rs. 5,999 which is an extra 1000 bucks, this could possibly make customers reconsider on buying the Redmi 5A.

The Redmi 5A is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor with two RAM and storage variants of 2GB and 3GB RAM and storage variant of 16GB and 32GB internal respectively. The smartphone also comes with expandable storage option and can take up to 128GB of micro SD card. The display on the smartphone is a 5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels.

The camera on the smartphone is a 13MP shooter on the rear with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and PDAF. The front camera of the smartphone is a 5MP shooter which is capable of taking good selfies and also supports video calling. The device has 4G VoLTE and a bunch of sensors on board. The Redmi 5A is powered by a 3000mAh battery.The device runs Android 7 out of the box with MIUI 9. The smartphone is available in 2 colour variants – Gold, Dark Grey and Rose Gold.

The Redmi 5A is available online on Flipkart and Mi.com and offline in Mi Homes and Mi preferred partner stores.

Xiaomi is one such brand which has always mentioned about there sale numbers and stats and this time around, the company hasn’t stated anything about there Redmi 5A sale numbers but they have increased the price of the smartphone.
