Redmi 5 Teased as Compact Powerhouse, To Launch in India on March 14

Xiaomi after their successful launch of the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro, the 2018 successor of its biggest hit the Redmi Note 4.  Xioami smartphone appears to be launching a new device, that is the Redmi 5 which is been teased as Compact Powerhouse in India on March 14. The company has already started teasing the upcoming smartphone. According to the different teaser posted on the social media, the new device to be launch appears to have a bigger size and battery capacity. The company has not given any tips on the name of the new launching smartphone, but we consider it to be the Xiaomi Redmi 5.

Manu Kumar Jain, Global VP and MD Xiaomi India. on Thursday posted a teaser with the caption, “#CompactPowerhouse is launching on 14th March! Slim, sleek and compact! Yet a true super powerhouse! Guess what this is?” While launching the two new variants of Mi TV 4A line up for India, Xiaomi teased the launch of there new smartphone which was expected on March 14th. The image showed has a side profile of the smartphone, with a camera bump which could possibly be Redmi 5.

This device could be a successor for the Redmi 4 and would be well priced below Redmi Note 5 which came with a price tag of just Rs. 9,999.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor and comes in different variants like 2GB/3GB and 4GB RAM and two storage variants the 16GB and 32GB inbuilt. The handset comes with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 282ppi. The camera on the Redmi 5 comes with a 12MP rear sensor and features f/2.2 aperture, PDAF and LED flash. On the front is a 5MP selfie camera with a soft-light flash. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3300mAh battery, supports dual SIM and comes with Android Nougat out of the box with MIUI 9.
