MediaTek, a chipset maker well known for its budget hardware and low-cost flagship smartphones. This chip maker company has introduced an all-new chipset under its Helio brand which would support the dual-camera setup called Helio P25, Octa-core processor that can run up clock speeds up to 2.5Ghz and packs ARM Mali T880 dual-GPU clocked at 800Mhz. The processor comes with 16nm finFET process for a much better performance and extended battery life and will also support LPDDR4 memory.
But the main focus of this processor is the new ISP or image signal processor is capable of supporting sensor up to 24-megapixel or dual 13-megapixel sensor setup. It will come with features like Colour, Mono de-noise and real-time shallow DoF bokeh effect. The new chip will come with multiple features and camera setting for a great image.
The processor has also better uploads in LTE and includes MediaTek,s Envelope Tracking Modulator which delivers more power and reduce heat.
The company says that smartphones featuring this new MediaTek P25 processor are expected to be in the market in Q1 2017. Jeffrey Ju, Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Operating Officer at MediaTek said a few words,” MediaTek Helio P25 paves the way for high-resolution and feature-rich smartphone cameras that would give amazing static shots and 4K2K videos, Dual camera setup with a 13MP each, the MediaTek Helio P25 redefines expectations for mobile photography and our multimedia features like MediaTek MiraVision technology, continuously enhance visual user experiences.”
