Asus is one of the leading smartphone brands which has a huge line up of products available in the market for different needs. In the past few years, Asus has almost covered the entire market and different range. Recently Asus launched the Zenfone Live which could be a good device for Social media addict or influencers and also for those who like to go live and interact with the audience.
Asus Zenfone Live has something special to offer, like all other device offer beautification mode which was restricted to photo only now is available to video as well on Live with beauty enhancement mode feature. So here is a detailed review of Asus Zenfone Live. Let’s see what makes this device different from others.
Asus Zenfone Live design
Asus is very well known to use the same design feature and the same goes on with Zenfone Live. The device will be available in three different colour combination with rounded edges that make the device look good and fit well in hands. The device is light in weight and sometime you might not feel the device in hands or pocket. Weighing just 120gms the Zenfone Live is pretty light. The device is made up of plastic and there is where it looks less premium.
The Zenfone Live sports a 5-inch display with 2.5D curved glass. The front camera sensor, selfie flash, sensors and earpiece are all located above the display. Below the screen are the capacitive touch button which is used for navigation. Although this button might be difficult to handle in the dark as they are not backlit.
The power, lock and the volume rockers are all placed on the right of the smartphone. There is a SIM and microSD card slot on the right. The Asus Zenfone Live has a Micro-USB port, a speaker grill and microphone at the bottom and the 3.5mm headphone jack and the secondary microphone at the top. The back of the device is a 13-megapixel camera sensor with LED flash and a logo which holds at the centre of the phone. Although the smartphone misses out the fingerprint scanner.
Asus Zenfone Live specification
Asus Zenfone Live has not cleared mentioned about the SoC in the device. It only says that it comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor. But we guess that the processor would be Snapdragon 400 which is quite an old processor for the device. The SoC clocked at 1.5Ghz with 2GB RAM and internal storage of 16GB. The storage can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. The device is powered by a 2650mAh battery. In the box, Asus has also provided with a SIM ejector tool, cable, and 5.2W charger.
Asus Zenfone Live performance
The device has been powered by a Snapdragon 400 processor with 2GB RAM makes the device very much underpowered. This can be seen the way device performance. The loading of apps and games takes time. The RAM management used in the phone force stops all the apps and needs to be restarted again all over.
Along with this, the Zenfone Live comes with ZenUI on the top with many customizations. The device also comes with many preloaded apps which really might not be useful to many users. The overall performance of the phone is low and has a lag. Although the device manages to run everything but at a very slow pace. The Asus Zenfone Live supports 4G VoLTE on both the SIM and has much other connectivity option.
Asus Zenfone Live Camera performance
Coming to the camera performance of the smartphone. The Asus Zenfone Live sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with a flash and at the rear is a 13-megapixel camera with single LED flash.
The camera app is easy to use and has many feature in-build. The smartphone can quickly focus and on a single tap has everything in right exposure. The video recording can be up to 1080p.
The front camera has the beautification mode active all the time and the tweaked images are good but the output takes a little more time. The front camera also supports video recording and beautification mode as well. There ss pretty good lags while processing video here as well.
Keeping aside everything the camera does its job. The device supports video beautification for streaming videos online on Facebook, Youtube and Instagram. You can also adjust the level of beautification. The overall performance of the camera was pretty good.
Verdict
The Asus Zenfone Live is the first device to support live beautification on video and support live streaming on social media platforms. Although for the company like Asus they could have delivered a pretty good and upscale specification phone at a price of INR 9,999, it’s very difficult to recommend this phone as there are much better players in the market today which offer a great package at the same price bracket.
